THE PSYCHIC SENSES

Before we begin learning about the psychic senses, it is important to understand that psychic ability is like a muscle. Like any muscle in the body, it must be used and excercised to become strong. Strengthening psychic ability is the same way. The more you use it and pay attention to it, the stronger and more accurate it becomes. But like any muscle in the body, the more it is ignored and not used the weaker and weaker it will become until finally it atrophies. The more you ignore them and deny their existance, the less you will experience, and eventually your ability will go dormant. This is an important reason why I suggest to everyone that they keep a journal of their experiences. Even if your not sure what your experiencing is a psychic sense, write every little thing down, just a sentance or two. Then every month, review what you have written, see if any of them have become reality. You will be surprised at your accuracy once you begin to pay attention to it. Keeping a journal will also enable you to see patterns in your abilities. For example, I find that during certain times of my feminine cycle I am less accurate. I just simply don't feel as connected to my intuition or the cards. During the rest of the month, I am very accurate and feel very connected. There are also times of the lunar cycle when we are most accurate. Astrology can play a key role in our emotions, our spiritual balance and our behavior. The only way to find out your particular patters, or cycles is to keep a journal. I also keep my journal for my children. Both of my children are gifted, and may choose to go on their own spiritual journies someday. Hopefully some of what I've written will be of help to them.
CLAIRVOYANCE: (Clear-seeing) This is the ability to see that which cannot be perceived through the physical sense of vision. Using the Third Eye, psychic pictures and color are utilized. We all have this ability and all, with practice could learn to see the "unseen". However, clairvoyant messages can come in very symbolic images and meanings that take some thought and dicipline to decode. It is also not uncommon for clairvoyant messages and visions to pop into our conciousness and then pop right out again very quickly. This is due to the high frequency and speed of the Other Side. The clairvoyant mind must be trained to absorb as much information as possible from that brief moment of vision or thought. If a clairvoyant waits around for a repeat, or stronger image, they often will loose the message entirely.
CLAIRAUDIENCE: (Clear-hearing) Psychic hearing is the ability to "hear" vibrations that are outside the range of the human physical ears. Clairaudient messages come in the form of thoughts that often sound just like our own inner monologue. Therefore, they can be very hard to distinguish from our own inner thought process. But with practice, and attention, one can begin to recognise when thoughts are messages. I am strong in clairaudience, and sometimes I will hear single words, or whole phrases, or even the occasional paragraph of information. I am able to tell it's clairaudience, because it will often be completely unrelated to what I was doing or thinking at the moment, or the message will be in words that I don't normally use. Each of us have the ability to be clairaudient. Many of us wake up in the morning with messages from dreams, or with a song, or scripture on our mind, or simply a thought that keeps repeating over and over in our minds. These are all examples of clairaudience.
CLAIRSENTIENCE: (Clear-sensing) This psychic sense covers a wide range of feelings, emotions, sensations and situations. Examples of clairsentience is empathy, sympathetic pain, sympathetic illness or feeing and sensing the presense of a spirit entity. Clairsentience is the ability to "feel" energy and non-physical matter. Often a medium who is clairsentient will feel or sense how a person died. Those who are gifted with medical intuition are able to feel or sense parts of the body where illness or pain is in another person. These are all examples of clairsentience.
CLAIRALIENCE: (Clear-smelling) This is the ability to sense non-physical matter, energy, or spirit presence through the sense of smell. I am often given messages this way either by loved ones who have passed on, or by my guides & Angles who give me different smells for varius reasons. I have several relatives who have passed on who give me smells of smoke, either cigar or cigarette to alert me to their presence. My Grandmother visits me with the scent of Este Lauder perfume, which was her favorite. I even had a fiesty spirit with me for a while who would give me smells of fried chicken and turkey to let me know she was here. This is often referred to by mediums as "smelling them".
CLAIRHAMBIENCE: (Clear-tasting) This is the ability to perceive messages through our sense of taste. This is closely related to clairalience.
An interesting side note to this topic:There is a school of thought that is investigating area's of the body that produce these psychic gifts. Specific area's of the body that cause us to experience these wonderful things. This would change how many view psychic ability, not so much as a "spiritual gift"....but more of a natural and normal human function. I will discribe below where these area's are.Clairvoyance stems from the Central Fissure which provides the most direct and unobstructed pathway to the Corpus Callosum, the massive nerve bundle that interconnects the two hemispheres of the brain. This area acts like a funnel at the top of the head allowing psychic images and impressions to simply "drop in".Clairsentience stems from the psychic antena which is located in the solar plexus region. This area holds numerous nerve networks assocaiated with the autonomic (or involuntary) nervous systems that are spread all over the abdomen. This nervous system provides a direct link to the subconcious mind, but it also is linked to every major organ and most endocrine glands. It maintains and regulates all of the body's vital automatic functions and is viewed even in medicine as a natrual monitoring system.Psychic Vision or "Third Eye" traditionally was thought to be linked with the pineal gland buried deep in the frontal center of the brain. The pineal gland is the most mysterious of the endocrine glands. It's function is not yet fully understood. Science has associated it with complex functions of light sensitivity in humans and animals. But an even more logical center for The Third Eye lies in the Frontal Cortex. This is where the final stages of visual interpretation take place. This is also linked to the dream state R.E.M.....or rapid eye movement sleep. The Frontal Cortex is actually located at the very back of the brain behind the forehead.Clairaudience stems from the glands located on each side of the head just above the ears called the Temporal Lobes. It is an area of the cerebrum that process auditory information. For a psychic strong in psychic hearing, fousing on this area of the brain seems to bypass the need to receive hearing information in the form of sound waves.
